Up for sale, is a freshly refurbished HP EliteBook 8560p. I did some extensive work on this notebook to restore it to a "like new" condition. When I purchased it from the auction the top lid display enclosure and the palmrest top cover were in very rough condition. The hard drive and caddy were missing, and it only had 4GB of RAM. On the plus side, it came furnished with an Intel i7-2640M 2.8GHz processor. Everything else was in great shape and worth the restoration, especially the 15.3" diagonal HD+ display with a 1600x900p resolution lit up by an AMD Radeon HD 6470M graphics adapter.
I started by purchasing a new top lid display enclosure and a new top cover palmrest assembly. Then I proceeded with a complete overhaul to thoroughly clean the EliteBook while waiting on the chassis parts to arrive. The process involves dismounting the heatsink and processor, blowing the dust and debris from the fan and fins, complete removal of all thermal paste, then recoating the processor and heatsink with Arctic Silver 5 thermal paste to reject heat more efficiently. I doubled the amount of RAM with a matched set (2x4GB) of Samsung memory modules totaling 8GB. All gold contacts were treated the DeOxit Gold to enhance conductivity. Then I installed a lightly used Intel 520 Series 240GB solid-state drive. The Intel 520 series is a commercial grade SSD known for its durability, and to find a used one still showing 100% of its estimated life remaining was a big plus. SSD's are maintenance free, operated silently, do not generate heat, and use very little power, thereby extending the battery life on a single charge. The complete system will load to the desktop in a matter of seconds, and applications launch almost simultaneously. There is nothing slow about this EliteBook.
On the SSD, I installed genuine copies of Windows 10 Professional x64 and Microsoft Office Professional Plus 2016. Also installed is AVG PC Tuneup with a 1-year license to keep the SSD clean and fast. All software product keys were recorded to a document and placed in the documents folder. Additional open source software was installed to enhance functionality and security. All hardware drivers were updated to the latest revision with no driver issues. The system BIOS was flashed to the latest version as well. By the time I received the new chassis parts, I had the system up and running flawlessly. I put the finishing touch on the new palmrest with fresh Windows 10 Pro and Intel Core i7 case badges.
The HP EliteBook 8560p features an HD webcam, a DVD-RW drive, an SD card reader, a keyboard light, two USB 2.0 ports, two USB 3.0 ports, an eSATA port, and audio/video ports. It is furnished with a genuine HP 90W power adaptor, a new canvas case with side pocket and plush interior, and a system repair disc in the event the Windows system fails to start.
I paid attention to every detail in the restoration of this HP EliteBook 8560p. It is clean inside and out and in excellent condition. All of my refurbished HP EliteBook's have an unconditional 30-day money back guarantee, and 6-months local parts and labor service after the sale.
