Up for sale is a fully restored HP EliteBook 8470p. When I received it, it was missing the battery, the service access panel, and the hard drive and caddy. The top lid screen back cover had visible dents and scratches on it. While I waited on the replacement parts, I disassembled the entire laptop for a thorough cleaning. It has a beautiful brushed aluminum finish, that shows minimal signs of usage, aside from the top lid. It was equipped with an i5-3320M 2.60GHz processor and 4GB of RAM. I did some very nice upgrades to this EliteBook without breaking the bank, and it can be yours at a very modest price.
I received the new top lid screen back cover first, and it made a huge difference in the overall appearance once it was replaced. The battery and the access panel arrived next to make it all complete. It needed a little peppier processor, so, I pulled the i5 2.60GHz processor and installed an Intel Core i7-3520M 2.90GHz processor. The memory RAM was upgraded with a matching set (2x4GB) of RAM modules. The primary hard drive I selected is a lightly used Samsung 850 Pro 256GB solid-state drive (SSD), Samsung’s fastest and most durable SSD. The drive only has 3.8TB written on it, and they are good for up to 600TB’s written. SSD's have no moving parts, operate silently, do not generate any heat, are shock resistant, and they require very little maintenance if any at all. The entire system will load in a matter of seconds and applications launch instantaneously. A lightly used Toshiba solid-state hybrid drive (SSHD) was installed in the DVD drive upgrade bay for an additional 500GB of storage space. The SSHD incorporates 8GB of NAND flash memory to launch programs or files quicker with each repetitive use. System backups, larger programs, photos, music, and videos can be stored on the SSHD, reserving the SSD for smaller daily use program software. Folders had been created on the SSHD similar to the SSD, the default download location has been changed to the SSHD, and the first full system backup has been performed. Both drives have been securely wiped of any preexisting data.
On the SSD, I installed genuine copies of Windows 10 Professional x64 and Microsoft Office Professional Plus 2016. Also installed is a paid copy of AVG PC Tuneup to keep the drive clean and running at optimal performance. Additional software was installed to enhance functionality and security. All software keys were recorded to a document and placed in the documents folder. All hardware drivers have been updated to the latest version without issues. The system BIOS was also flashed to the latest revision.
The HP EliteBook 8470p features an HD webcam, a keyboard light, Bluetooth 4.0 and Wi-Fi connectivity, and a fingerprint reader that works with "Windows Hello". Logging into Windows is as easy as a swipe of the forefinger across the reader. The EliteBook has two USB 3.0 high-speed ports, a USB 2.0 power port, an eSATA/USB port, and audio/video ports. Furnished with the EliteBook is a new HP protective case with side pocket, and an HP 90W A/C power adapter.
I have put the HP EliteBook 8470p through a battery of tests and feel confident it will be trouble-free for many years. All of my refurbished HP EliteBook's are backed by a 30-day unconditional money back guarantee if you are not satisfied, followed by a 6-month local part and labor warranty. Thank you for looking!
